**Job Summary**

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and implement regular and therapeutic menus, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate the preparation and serving of meals, including evening meals, desserts, and other special dishes.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality and quantity of food supplies, ensuring that all equipment is properly operated and maintained.
  • Direct and train Dietary Aides in food preparation procedures and serving activities, ensuring that all meals are served on time and at the correct temperatures.
  • Assume responsibility for routine departmental operations in the absence of the Dietary Manager, including staff replacements and service calls for malfunctioning equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of menu changes, delivery receipts, and temperature checks, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Experience in institutional large quantity cooking, preferably in a care home or similar setting.
  • Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and write English and understand moderately complex verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Proven ability to provide direction and lead others within a busy environment.
