BMO Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled Liquidity and Funding Management Specialist to join our Corporate Treasury team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing the bank's liquidity and funding risks, ensuring financial resiliency and alignment with our risk appetite.
About the Role- Collaborate with businesses and finance partners to evaluate the potential impact of stress scenarios on the bank's balance sheet, funding capability, and liquidity position.
- Monitor, review, and maintain the performance of liquidity stress testing programs, addressing issues and implementing enhancements.
- Participate in enhancement projects for stress testing programs to improve accuracy, efficiency, and control based on evolving regulatory and internal stress testing requirements.
- Recommend and implement liquidity and funding solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
- Support the development and execution of the bank's liquidity and funding risk management strategy for executive and Board approval.
- Develop processes to identify, measure, and manage liquidity and funding risks in conjunction with Market Risk Management, businesses, and other Finance areas.
- Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group on liquidity and funding matters, including recovery and resolution planning.
- Develop and maintain the model and assumption framework used to measure liquidity and funding risk and recommend changes.
- Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making and understand risk drivers.
- Recommend and implement solutions based on risk assessments, analysis of issues, and implications for the business.
- Act as liaison between stakeholders, including industry specialty groups and regulators, to align agendas and ensure a clear understanding of the business context.
- Provide input into the planning and implementation of liquidity and funding risk modeling activities and programs.
- Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and/or streamlined reporting.
- Gather and format data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
- Monitor and track balance sheet usage and address any issues.
- Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
- Analyze data and information to provide insights into business product pricing and funds transfer pricing processes.
- Support the development and execution of liquidity and funding-related strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Typically between 5-7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency of financial products gained through extensive education and/or business experience.
- Knowledge and experience in financial modeling, including but not limited to, Excel, PowerBI, and SQL. SAS, R, Python, PySpark or other tools beneficial.
