As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you will employ a patient- and family-centered methodology to deliver comprehensive, high-quality, and secure care to individuals, adhering to the practice scope established by the College of Nurses of Ontario, evidence-based nursing protocols, and the standards upheld by Mackenzie Health. Key Responsibilities
Delivering culturally sensitive care to patients with well-defined and complex care requirements, ensuring predictable outcomes and manageable responses. Evaluating patients to identify alterations in their condition and/or needs, promptly communicating these to relevant team members. Administering and documenting therapeutic interventions and medications in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards. Advocating for patients' rights and needs. Engaging in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.Required Qualifications
Valid Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario. For graduates prior to 1995, a Medication Administration Certificate from an accredited community college. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Completion of Coronary Care Course 1, or a commitment to complete it within one year of hire. Demonstrated clinical experience with a focus on patient-centered care, including robust patient assessment, care planning, education, and documentation skills.Additional Attributes

Proven decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities. Capability to manage a diverse workload efficiently in a dynamic environment. Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth. Understanding and adherence to patient and staff safety protocols that promote a secure and inclusive environment for all. Familiarity with the Regulated Health Professions Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.Preferred Qualifications
Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited nursing program. Membership in the Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO). At least one year of recent nursing experience as a Registered Practical Nurse in an acute care environment within the last three years. One year of experience in Emergency or Telemetry settings. Two years of experience in Medicine/Surgical care. Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) course preferred, or an equivalent course. Experience with electronic medical records.
