Job Summary

Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team as a Patient Care Specialist. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex care needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide direct patient care, including wound care, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive environment by adhering to patient and staff safety policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Practical Nurse Diploma from an approved nursing program
  • Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in inpatient surgery, day surgery, or emergency
  • Experience working with electronic medical records
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operating Room Certificate
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Recent Endoscopy, Urology, and Paediatric surgery experience
  • Recent completion of a physical assessment course
  • Member of the Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO) /Canadian Nurses Association (CNA)
