This casual, part-time opportunity involves a range of responsibilities that contribute to the efficient daily operation of the hospital. Your primary responsibility is to ensure our clients and their pets feel welcomed, expertly cared for, and appreciated.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments, while learning more about veterinary services and updated medical office procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service skills, putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environment.
- Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients, adapting to changing situations.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, maintaining the cleanliness of reception areas, pet holding areas, and common spaces.
- Utilize strong organizational skills to carry out assignments independently.
- Manage client care responsibilities, including answering a multiline phone system and tracking and booking appointments effectively.
- Respond to and manage email correspondence with clients, referring veterinarians, and internal office messages.
- Admit and discharge pet patients, process payments, and create estimates.
- A Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) program certificate is an asset.
