Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Registration Clerk to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Respiratory Clinic, you will be responsible for scheduling and booking patient appointments, managing patient demographics, and performing various administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and book patient appointments using a computerized scheduling system, ensuring accurate and timely communication with patients and clinicians.
- Receive and register patients, ensuring accurate and complete demographic information, and follow up with relevant parties as necessary.
- Perform referral functions, including data entry, paperwork processing, and scheduling new referrals based on established criteria.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient charts, statistics, and other relevant documentation.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Grade 12, plus two (2) years' recent experience in a healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to keyboard 45 wpm, with knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, with the ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
