Role Overview: Reporting to the Bakery Supervisor, the Bakery Clerk plays a vital role in daily operations within the Bakery Department. This position involves making informed decisions to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist customers in the bakery section promptly
  • Address customer inquiries and provide product recommendations
  • Relay customer requests to the Bakery Supervisor or Department Manager
  • Utilize pricing equipment to label bakery items accurately
  • Package baked goods for customer orders
  • Handle customer calls and manage bakery orders efficiently
  • Maintain and stock bakery displays
  • Encourage additional sales through suggestion selling
  • Ensure the pastry counter is well-stocked with a variety of products
  • Assist bakers in preparing various baked items
  • Follow sanitation protocols for cleaning baking tools and equipment
  • Inspect products for quality and manage inventory records
  • Maintain cleanliness of display cases and the bakery area
  • Promote a safe working environment and adhere to food safety standards
  • Collaborate with the Café department to ensure product availability
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management
  • Engage positively with customers, colleagues, and the community
  • Share insights on market trends and customer preferences with supervisors

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • At least one year of experience in a customer service role
