Job Description

The Radiation Therapist plays a critical role in the delivery of cancer care, preparing patients for radiation treatments with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fabrication of accessories, such as casts, to support treatment delivery.
  • Treatment localization using conventional simulators and CT scanners with simulation software.
  • Treatment calculations involving in-depth knowledge of treatment plans, dosimetry, and outputs.
  • Data entry for record and verify systems and online image acquisition systems.
  • Treatment delivery, including external beam therapy and brachytherapy in the operating room, utilizing various units and technologies.
  • Handling of radioactive sources.
  • Student teaching and precepting for radiation therapy students, residents, and visiting students.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program in Canada or a non-Canadian program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.
  • License and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals.
  • Excellent working knowledge of relevant computer software programs.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:

$45.88 - $53.49 Hourly
