Job Overview

Radiation therapists play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. They work closely with oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to administer radiation treatments. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing patients for radiation treatments, operating equipment, and ensuring accurate dosages.

Your Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A degree from an accredited radiation therapy program in Canada or a non-Canadian program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
• A valid license and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals
• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in computer software programs used in radiation therapy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Proficiency in French an asset
