A key position in our radiation oncology department, the Medical Physicist plays a crucial role in designing and implementing treatment plans. Working closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists, they ensure the safe and accurate delivery of radiation therapy to patients. To excel in this role, you'll need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in treatment planning software and dosimetry equipment is also essential. A Master's degree in Medical Physics, Physics or related field is a minimum requirement, while board eligibility by the American Board of Radiology is a must. With two to three years of clinical experience under your belt, particularly in advanced radiation therapy techniques (e.g., IMRT, VMAT, SRS, SBRT), you'll be well-positioned to thrive in this dynamic environment.
