**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Events department, including staff management, scheduling, training, and adherence to resort policies.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of resort policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all guest interactions meet or exceed resort standards, delivering exceptional service.
- Respond professionally and promptly to customer inquiries regarding upcoming and ongoing events.
- Maintain the efficient daily operation of the department by enforcing compliance with resort policies.
- Strategically manage event revenue and expenses to meet departmental objectives.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant laws, resort policies, and government regulations, including cleanliness and safety standards in all function areas.
- Conduct site tours and manage event bookings, contracts, and deposits.
- Oversee events as needed and provide support to catering staff.
- Handle event billing, collections, and accounting processes.
- Collaborate with resort management and other departments for seamless event execution.
- Prepare and present weekly Function Summaries to senior management.
- Adjust staffing schedules as required to ensure optimal service levels.
- Stay knowledgeable about fire, life, and safety procedures, and take appropriate action in case of emergencies.
- Monitor and control labor costs, delegating tasks to the catering team.
- Plan and lead weekly staff meetings, ensuring smooth operations and communication.
- Manage catering supplies and maintain operational efficiency in the catering department.
- Contribute to product development, promotions, and pricing strategies for events.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to expand the catering department.
- Assist in designing and delivering orientation and training programs for employees.
- Represent Sandpiper Resort positively at community events and engagements.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives to continually improve the guest experience.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in events coordination, hospitality, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to teamwork.
- Knowledge of catering operations, event management, and budgeting.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with staff supervision and scheduling is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of event management software is an asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
