Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Annual Giving, the** Philanthropy Coordinator, Annual Giving** is part of the Philanthropy team responsible for an integrated fundraising model. As a key driver in the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s strategic plan, the Philanthropy team is committed to innovative fundraising, a diverse donor base, and excellence in all giving streams. The Annual Giving program is an important source of reliable undesignated income for the Foundation with funds raised through direct mail, tele-fundraising, online giving, face to face fundraising, and tribute or commemorative giving. Monthly and tribute donors are critical to the success within the Annual Giving team and for the Foundation by providing reliable, recurring support.
The** Philanthropy**Coordinator, Annual Giving** will be responsible for coordinating and executing the day-to-day operations of the monthly giving and tribute programs, playing a pivotal role in securing long-term donor commitment, enhancing retention and growth of monthly donors and tribute families for the Foundation and fostering strong donor engagement from this essential group.
**Key Tasks & Responsibilities**:
**Monthly Giving Program**
- Working with the Senior Manager, Annual Giving, execute and coordinate smooth and efficient operations of the monthly donor program.
- Support the Sr. Manager, Annual Giving in working with vendors that solicit monthly gifts.
- Maintain accuracy of monthly donor information including contact details, payment information, recognition requests, and communication preferences.
- Enhance retention of and revenue from monthly donors through various activities, including:
- Proactively obtaining updated credit card payment information as needed through donor outreach, mainly by phone.
- Supporting delivery of Foundation-led impact information and stewardship activities to monthly donors.
- Tuning in to donors’ wishes and feedback to provide suggestions for enhancements and improvements to stewardship and information for this audience’s unique needs.
- Execute on work needed to support growth in numbers of monthly donors.
- Build relationships with monthly donors that show interest, including identifying donors for story sharing, legacy giving, and mid-level cultivation.
**Tribute Program**
- Working with the Sr. Manager, Annual Giving, execute and coordinate smooth and efficient operations of the Foundation’s tribute program which includes in memory and in honour.
- Support communication and offers, including future initiatives like fundraising pages for tributes, communication to funeral homes, etc.
- Coordinate and execute acknowledgement to families through weekly creation and delivery of next-of-kin contributor letters and other communications as assigned.
- Maintain accuracy of recorded information for tributes including next-of-kin contact details, tribute information, and other relevant data.
- Provide excellent experience as main contact for troubleshooting, family inquiries, and requests from funeral homes.
- Tune in to families’ wishes and feedback to provide suggestions for enhancements and improvements to stewardship and information for this audience’s unique needs.
- Enhance retention of tribute donors and support from families by executing on various acknowledgement and stewardship activities.
- Build relationships with next-of-kin and/or families that show interest, including identifying stories for sharing, legacy giving, and mid-level cultivation.
**Record Keeping & Administration**
- Provide support to annual giving activities as required.
- Maintain meticulous notes and accurate records for donor actions, relationships, and any relevant information
- In conjunction with the Senior Manager, Annual Giving, seek opportunities for trends and best practices and look for opportunities to grow unrestricted revenue through monthly donor and tribute revenue streams.
- Work with other members of the Philanthropy team as needed to enhance donor support to the organization.
- Remain knowledgeable about the impact of Alberta Cancer Foundation has and key messages in general and for specific audiences.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary or related technical training required.
- 2-4 years of work experience in a non-profit organization, preferably focused in healthcare philanthropy. (Please note that a different combination of education and work experience
