**Communications Coordinator**

**The Ottawa Festival Network (OFN) is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and energetic individual to join our team**

**6-month term: Wednesday, January 3, 2024 to Friday, June 28, 2024 - possibility for extension.**
About us: Since its inception in 1996, the OFN has been dedicated to fostering a thriving industry through research, advocacy, and education. We strive to cultivate a vibrant networking platform for festivals, special events, and fairs within Canada's Capital Region. As a not-for-profit service organization, our collaborative efforts with members and partners aim to establish Ottawa as a vibrant, inspiring, and prosperous festival capital.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Amplify and promote member events, and the industry overall, by developing and executing public-facing content strategies, while seeking opportunities to collaborate with members on contesting, content development, storytelling and other creative content.
- Guide and actively contribute to OFN branding and messaging, including content writing and design, website content development and coordination, podcasts, video, news releases, etc.
- Lead weekly communications team meetings and supervise the tasks of multiple communications assistants.
- Conduct the planning and implementation of industry-facing communications campaigns for OFN's programs and services including membership drives, industry events, and advocacy.
- Identify and curate content such as industry trends, best practices, advocacy, funding opportunities, events, and research shared through member-focused channels such as OFN’s newsletter, website and socials.

**Desired Traits, Skills and Experience**:

- A degree or diploma in marketing, communications, digital media, or other relevant field of study.
- At least three years of related experience.
- Has a “can-do” attitude, good judgement, and instincts.
- Is well organized with an impeccable attention to detail.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Friendly and approachable, driven to succeed, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, Wordpress, and Canva; other technical skills are assets.
- Experience with the local festival industry is an asset.
- A drivers license with access to a vehicle are assets.

**Working Conditions and remuneration**:

- OFN currently offers a hybrid work environment with 1-2 days per week of in person work at Festival House, 450 Churchill Ave N.
- Monday
- Friday, 37.5 hours per week but must be flexible to attend occasional evening and weekend events.
- Starting salary: $1730 bi-weekly; paid corporate mileage; monthly phone allowance.
