Job Summary

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for a range of communications activities and administrative duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the Communications department as well as the coordination of related programs, projects and services. This includes logístical support and leadership in the planning and coordination of events aimed at enhancing employee experience within the Company.

In this you will:

- Support the administration and promotion of Communications policies, programs and events and act as a corporate brand champion.
- Develop and edit communications materials including presentations, posters, fact sheets, web banners and advertisements in support of internal and external-facing initiatives.
- Undertake and/or participate in special projects on behalf of the Director, Communications and Managers within the department, including identifying expected outcomes, develop action plans and prepare reports.
- Prepare and respond to departmental inquiries, including acknowledgements and interim replies.
- Coordinate activities related to programs and partnerships aimed at education, enhancing the Company’s visibility within the aviation industry, and fostering an employee culture of giving. This includes reviewing requests and processing transactions related to the Company’s sponsorship and charitable contributions programs.
- Provide logístical support including the coordination of employee events, cross-country distribution of materials to NAV CANADA sites, employee polling and information solicitation, document parsing and records management.
- Ensure consistency in administrative procedures and standards; coordinate and implement administrative process requirements for Communications planning, forecasting and reporting and coordinate with other groups, as required.
- Provide translation coordination support and ensure liaison between clients and suppliers when necessary.
- Assist from time to time with other Communications duties, as directed by the Manager, Brand.

What you bring:

- Education in communications/journalism or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in office administration and/or communications functions.
- Experience working with and supporting management.
- Experience in event planning and coordination.
- Experience in project management and support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products.
- Knowledge of aviation industry.

Working Conditions:

- This position is based at the Ottawa Head Office but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
