**System Communication Coordinator**

**What is the project?**

The Confederation Line Extension Project - one of the components of the City of Ottawa Stage 2 O-Train system - includes the design, construction and financing of 27,5kilometres of light rail infrastructure. The scope of work also includes 4 kilometres of cut-and cover tunnels, 20 engineered structures, 16 stations and a light maintenance service facility.

**What you will do**:
Plan, direct and coordinate installation activities and on-site inspections and tests to comply with design specifications, requirements, and codes. He / she fosters a spirit of enthusiasm; client focus and team building among the engineering and construction staff of the project team.

Concretely, your tasks will be:

- Supervise, coordinate, and manage system communication subcontractors across multiple project sites.
- Review the organization, methods, and equipment of subcontractor for the execution of the project.
- Ensure all work is performed safely. Conducts basic safety inspections, identifies, and corrects safety hazards, and leads by example in safety practices by implementing the project safety plan.
- Review, interpret and update construction schedules (3-weeks and 3-months schedules). Ensure accurate progress of the project construction schedule and supports updates to planned dates and sequencing.
- Assists in monitoring the quality plan, including conducting quality inspections.
- Develop tracking sheets, punch lists and progress reports for purpose of monitoring all system communication installations.
- Support the system communication testing and commissioning lead in all system communication test & commissioning activities as necessary.

**Who we are looking for**:

- Experience in installation of system communications devices (experience on electrical infrastructure installation, an asset)
- Rail experience and/or industrial power/systems installation and construction, an asset.
- Able to lead, organize daily/weekly meetings and record / approve minutes with the subcontractors and other on-site contractors to coordinate the scope of their work.
- Has the ability to identify errors, omissions, and conflicts in applicable design drawings. (System communication and electrical infrastructure).
- Experience in auditing red lines and mark ups from subcontractors.
- Has a valid driving license (G).
