2024-2025 Night School Teaching Positions

Reporting to the Vice-Principal and Principal of Adult and Continuing Education, the Night School teacher will be responsible for the instructional delivery of twice weekly classes. Teachers will be responsible for all aspects of credit-earning secondary school courses, including record keeping and final reporting for their assigned course. Teachers should be comfortable teaching in an eLearning and hybrid formats. Teachers should be comfortable teaching in face-to-face, eLearning and hybrid formats. Confirmed delivery format to be determined when the Ministry of Education releases their funding registers for the 2024 - 2025 school year.

**Teacher Location**: Remote (Barrie Learning Centre available as required) following SCDSB remote work guidelines

**Key Competencies**:
Successful applicants for the Night School Teacher position will demonstrate evidence of:
?Ability to integrate technology into daily practice

?A deep understanding of online learning pedagogy

?Collaboration and teamwork with colleagues

?Excellent oral and written communication skills

?Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, Growing Success and the School Effectiveness Framework

?Proven ability to create collaborative and inclusive learning environments in an online environment

**Major Responsibilities for Night School Teachers**:
?3 hours of synchronous instruction twice a week from 6 pm - 9 pm remotely or at the Barrie Learning Centre (if reliable internet and/or environment is required) and as per SCDSB remote work policies

?Implementing effective student assessment practices (e.g. descriptive feedback)

?Enhance curriculum-based content to integrate differentiated instructional strategies designed to improve student engagement and foster deeper learning

All Night School teaching positions will be available only if the minimum registration numbers are obtained. Please note that due to late registrations hiring can continue right up to the first two operating days of school.
