Job/Position Summary:
The Program Manager will support Dr. Eugenia Oviedo-Joekes’ program of research studies situated under the

Program of Outcomes Research on Treatment with Injectables for Addiction (PORTIA)

and the Person-Centered Care in Addiction and Public Health research program, an exciting and growing body of work that seeks to develop evidence-based approaches to shift drug policy in Canada.

Organizational Status:
The primary focus of the Program Manager (PM) will be to coordinate and support the expansive scope of research projects under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI). The PM will work directly and collaboratively with the PI to oversee the entire research program and manage a team of research assistants and a research coordinator. The PM will also be responsible for developing and maintaining provincial and national relationships with key stakeholders within the community of Injectable Opioid Agonist Treatment (iOAT).
- Housed within the Faculty of Medicine, the School of Population and Public Health (SPPH) is an innovative unit that encompasses many of the health-related groupings at UBC as a collaborative venture. The School is structured around four divisions: Occupational and Environmental Health; Health Services and Policy; Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Public Health Practice; and Health in Populations. The resulting mix of professions and disciplines is seen as a means of connecting individuals and learners to galvanize the relationship between health research, public health and health services and to enhance learning._

Work Performed:
- Provides support throughout stages of research projects from planning and implementation through to completion; liaises with the Principal Investigator, researchers, clinical staff, and other stakeholders.- Optimizes research team workflow and processes to enhance efficiency and enable improved research activities.- Oversees data collection and operations across the program of research and provides critical input.- Develops and maintains stakeholder relationships.- Provides direct supervision to research assistants and other staff across the program of research and supports staff needs and development.- Collaborates on knowledge translation, writing, and other related outputs.

This position will be a combination of working from home, UBC School of Population and Public Health, and the field research office on 326 E Hastings Street.

Consequence of Error/Judgment:
A high level of judgment is needed in this position. Inadequate documentation, organization, communication and planning may adversely affect the image and reputation of UBC. Error could be associated with the loss of investigator productivity and the potential loss of renewal grant funding.

Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
