Corporate Human Resources Manager

**Position Title**:Corporate Human Resources Manager
**Location**:Spencer // Butcher Group - Windsor, ON
**Position Type**:Full-time
**Reports To**: Chief Operating Officer
**Position Description**:
**The key responsibilities of the Corporate Human Resources Manager include**:
- Serving as a trusted advisor on all aspects of HR and ensuring compliance with employment related legislation and company standards for both unionized and non-unionized facilities
- Providing guidance and support to management on employee relations issues including performance management, disciplinary action and conflict resolution
- Developing, reviewing and updating company policies, processes, manuals, handbooks
- Overseeing the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orientation and training of employees
- Overseeing the compensation, benefits administration and pension administration of hourly and salary employees
- Developing and maintaining health and safety programs including coaching for health and safety committees and coordinating certification training
- Successfully negotiating and administering multiple collective agreements
- Developing and maintaining procedures for documenting, completing and submitting accident/incident investigations and WSIB claims
- Preparing and presenting appeals for WSIB claims to the WSIAT
- Developing and overseeing return to work programs
- Developing and maintaining procedures for documenting and conducting workplace investigations
- Tracking HR department successes and identifying areas for improvement in service delivery through peer feedback and goal setting
- Staying up-to-date on changes in employment laws to ensure compliance
**Required skills and competencies**:
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and leadership skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage a constantly fluctuating workload with capability of adhering to strict deadlines
- Proven mature decision making, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, WSIB claims, benefits administration and pension administration
- Strong background with labour relations, grievance handling, union negotiations, collective bargaining, etc. in a large manufacturing facility
- Ability to travel to facilities within Canada and the United States as needed
**Required experience**:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in an HR leadership role within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 10 years of HR experience in a unionized environment
**Required education**:
- University degree or College diploma in Human Resources or related field
- CHRP or CHRL designation preferred
