In this role, you will perform various HR duties, including managing employee relations, recruiting, compensation, conducting new hire orientation, and updating the employee handbook, organizing trainings, administering employee benefits and leaves and crafting HR policies. You will use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. You’ll act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics. The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization.

**Responsibilities, overall but not limited to**:

- Learn and understand the dynamically changing retail cannabis environment and cater to the recruitment needs.
- Compose compelling job advertisements to post on major job boards and other relevant websites
- Payroll review, maintenance and processing
- Prepare Job List and attend weekly Job Order meetings to keep current of all job orders
- Onboarding new hires.
- Administer compensation and benefit plans
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
- Develop, execute, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
- Organize quarterly, bi-annual and annual employee performance reviews
- Set up, organize and attend company meetings as well as completing accurate minutes
- Ensure compliance with labour regulations
- Reliable and immediate communication with Corporate management on all HR related items

**Qualifications**:

- At least 3 years experience as an HR Generalist
- BSc/BA in Business administration or relevant field
- Additional HR training will be a plus
- CHRP/ CHRL will be an asset.
- Knowledge of Employment Standards Act with current updates
- Knowledge and management of OHSA and WSIB and ensuring compliance
- Understanding of general HR policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Desire to work and be apart of a team as well as capable and motivated when working independently
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- A proven track record of being resourceful, delivering results and following through on objectives
- Strong proficiency in MS Office - including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience working with HRIS
- Fast learner with commitment to ongoing learning
- Tact and diplomacy when handling confidential information

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $48,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
