The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is responsible for the stewardship of the Port of Vancouver, Canada’s largest and most diversified port. Our mandate as a Canada Port Authority, as set out by the Canada Marine Act, is to enable Canada’s trade objectives, ensuring goods are moved safely and responsibly through the Port of Vancouver. That means providing infrastructure and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of marine traffic and cargo within the port. It also means we carry out reviews of proposed activities and developments on federal port lands and waters to determine whether a project can go ahead without impacts to the environment and community that cannot be mitigated.

**What you do**:
- Subject matter expert (SME) for assigned systems including ongoing maintenance, upgrades, roll-out of new modules or relevant systems replacement implementations.
- Complete assigned elements of the systems implementation cycle including envisioning, definition of user requirements, preparation of technical specifications, building prototypes, performing system tests, and preparing relevant documentation and training material.
- Suggest technical solutions, configurations, and functionality to enhance the use of the financial systems.
- Perform relevant research, develops project plans, risks, and cost estimates.
- Work with vendors and external implementers to make sure financial systems supported follow the best practices and comply with internal and external standards, operating procedures, and policies.
- Develop and support the required integration with other port authority data sources and systems.
- Monitors vendor and user requested enhancements and / or patches; applies appropriate upgrades; keeps system up to date including security patching.
- Maintains and supports the port authority’s financial and business environment; support includes trouble shooting systems issues, testing, and implementing program fixes and enhancements integrations with other systems, creating/updating all relevant documentation.
- Supports the ongoing review and updating of the cybersecurity program for assigned areas of responsibility. Participates in implementing cyber security requirements.
- As required, this position will assist with the development, enhancement, and maintenance of relevant policies and procedures.
- Assist with the systems disaster recovery plans & procedures.
- As required, this position will assist with special exams and audits.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to power-users of the various integrated modules, to ensure business requirements are met and the system performance is optimized.
- Create comprehensive technical system documentation and provide training to users.
**What you bring**:
- Must have a two-year full-time technical diploma in information technology or another acceptable field from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.
- Must have demonstrated experience with the following:
- Hands-on technical experience working with the financial systems.
- Developing integrations with other systems.
- Working knowledge of both on-premise and cloud platforms and various cloud service models.
- The following will be considered an asset:
- Exposure/background to other finance or budgeting tools and systems (e.g. AccPac, Infor SMPlus/ISM, Prism, Anaplan, Planful).
- Experience with project management tools (Jira)
- Exposure to modern delivery approaches such as Agile and SCRUM
- Experience in business process management tools (I.e. ServiceNow, Microsoft Powerautomate)
- JDE CNC activities such as package build and deployment, OMW, ASU/ESU
- Implementing segregation of duties (SOD) based on provided requirements.
- JDE components like orchestration, AIS, Business Services
