**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
The Coordinator, Government and Community Relations (GCR) Waterfront for City of Toronto and Durham Region works with the Senior Manager and CEO’s Office to manage, track, and coordinate communications, briefings and meetings with elected officials, government staff, community organizations, and the public. The coordinator also monitors municipal councils and committees for items of interest to TRCA and assists with the development of presentation materials and updating agreements for projects and initiatives along the Lake Ontario shoreline.
**Major Responsibilities**:

- Tracks communications and requests from elected officials and Board Members in support of TRCA’s mandate, ensuring responses are sent; this includes closely following protocols related to elected official and Board of Director communications
- Prepares updates on TRCA and partner programs and projects of interest within TRCA jurisdiction, sending updates to managers
- Ensures the Management team receives relevant information on their constituencies
- Support in the development and securement of agreements as part of the corporate effort to formalize relationships with stakeholders as required, this may include Memorandums of Understanding (MOU’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
- Coordinates and prepares daily schedules of meetings, agendas and minutes for team members and management, provides briefs on any special visits, committees or additional documentation/files that are pertinent for meeting preparation
- Supports the preparation and development of presentations and corresponding materials; presents as requested
- Supports the engagement and communication efforts on major initiatives involving municipal and stakeholder consultation
- Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as required to achieve organizational goals
- Builds trust and encourages accountability; ensures messages are clear and concise and that takes perspective into account when communicating with stakeholders

**What will you need to succeed**:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Administration, Communications, Environmental Studies, Political Science, or a related discipline
- Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license

Experience
- 2+ years of experience in partnership and stakeholder development and engagement; and/or an environmental sustainability role.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
- Able to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines; skilled in writing clear correspondence (concise, logical, grammatically correct)
- Able to self-manage workload and prioritize tasks as an ongoing challenge in a frequently fluctuating workload and multiple deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify problems in a timely manner, seeking the appropriate level of support to solve issues
- Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx and SharePoint
