Western Integrated Electrical builds, installs, maintains, and commissions electrical systems throughout locations across the lower mainland. We complete a variety of electrical installations which can be located at YVR, hospitals, industrial facilities, commercial buildings and in many local municipal facilities. We partner with our clients across the lower mainland to solve their most pressing challenges including design build projects and custom solutions. Distribution and lighting upgrades. Conveyor and machine installations.

We are looking for a **Junior/Intermediate Drafter - Electrical **to join our team of professionals.

**What you will be doing**:
Reporting to the Systems Automation and Controls Team Manager of Western Integrated, the primary duties of this role are to:
Automation and Electrical Systems Design:

- Provide CAD drawings for automation systems, including panel elevations, layouts and electrical schematics for VFD’s, MCC’s and PLC’s.
- Support the development of drafting policies and plans for continuous improvement of the Drafting Department.
- Work with the engineering team to ensure consistent drawings while providing the technical content and layouts they require.
- Prioritize and manage drafting work on concurrent projects.
- Manage and maintain drawing standards, including symbols, nomenclature, as required.
- Maintain a record of drawing revisions and transmittals.

Other:

- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the junior drafters.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to create and maintaining engineering standards.
- Support automation systems testing during the manufacturing phase.

**What we need from you**:

- 2-5 years experience in drafting, ideally with electrical focus (i.e. one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, loop drawings, etc.)
- Able to prepare complex electrical schematics from rough sketches and/or verbal instructions from the engineering team.
- Certification in Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
- AutoCAD and/or Solidworks-Electrical are preferred.
- Experience in industrial automation systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational, communication and time management skills.
- Motivated to continuously improve technical skills, personal skills and company processes.
- Drive to succeed, willing to take on new challenges and have a can-do attitude.
- Must be a team player, able to multitask, adapt and be innovative in an entrepreneurial environment.
