**Reports to **Sharon Walker, General Manager

The Marketing Assistant contributes to the success of Jo Anne's Place Health Foods by creating an environment where our vision, values, and mission are fulfilled daily, by supporting the overall operations of the advertising and marketing department.

**Essential Functions**

Comprehensive

- Must learn/have knowledge of Smart Vendor (POS)
- Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Must be skilled in Canva
- Must be able to create on-brand signage for the stores.
- Must have a working knowledge of social media

**Work Environment**

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the preparation areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields. For the most part, the employee will be exposed to ambient room temperatures, lighting and equipment as found in a typical office or food and supplement retail environment.

**Physical Demands**

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. The position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. The employee may reach above shoulder height or below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required.

**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**

This is a part-time position equally 24 hours per week during store operating hours, unless scheduled otherwise.

**Travel**

Occasional local travel is expected with this position.

**Preferred Education and Experience**
- Associate degree in Marketing or a related field.
- Prior advertising or marketing experience.
- Excellent computer skills, especially typing.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience or keen interest in business marketing
- Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others.
