The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada has locations in Peterborough and London. We maintain residential homes for our Sisters who require differing levels of care, and we take seriously the desire in us to live in good relationship with our planet and all other life forms in creation.

The Administrator works closely with department supervisors, the Community Life Coordinator, and staff to ensure an atmosphere of home is maintained and that staff are aware that they work in the Sisters’ home.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manages the Peterborough staff in consultation with the People & Culture Generalist.
- Provides guidance and direction to the Residence’s management and staff to maintain operational compliance and to encourage best environmental practices.
- Manage the operations of the Peterborough Main Residence and give support to Sisters living in the local area.
- Advocates and supports corporate policies.
- Participates in a monthly Corporate Business meeting as does the administrator in the London residence.
- Collaborates with the London Administrator sharing responsibilities at both sites in the absence of the other.
- Prepare for the safety and security of the buildings and occupants and ensure that the Fire Safety, Occupational Health and Safety and the Emergency Measures Plans are adhered to. Recommend updates as required.
- Develops, in conjunction with department Supervisors, and presents to the Director of Finance and Investments, the annual operating and capital budgets. Reviews Budget requirements with Advisory Committee before submission.
- Locally, directs the budgetary process as required.
- Accountable for ongoing compliance with the approved operational budgets for each department including staffing budgets.
- Oversees the budget and administration of the Cottage at White’s Lake.
- Responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles associated with the Peterborough Main Residence and supports those Sisters in the Peterborough community. Oversees all matters pertaining to fleet vehicles.
- Responsible for Driver Safety and continued conversations with drivers.
- Purchase goods and services as required for the effective operation of the Peterborough Residence as per the procurement policy.
- Ensures compliance with operations budgets in all departments, including staffing, supplies, and maintenance.
- Coordinate transportation to satisfy the needs of the Sisters who live in the Main Residence, and as needed, for those that live in the surrounding area.
- Prepare and coordinate tenders and contracting for building maintenance projects in the Peterborough Residence in consultation with the Director of Future Planning
- Manages day-to-day business and professional relationships with external parties including legislative representatives, and neighbouring facilities.
- Ensures that IT issues and needs are provided for in collaboration with Corporate IT.
- Anticipate the changing needs of the Sisters in the Main Residence and adjust the provision of services accordingly.

**Education/Experience/Skills**:

- An Administrator’s certificate, or equivalent, would be an asset
- Additional education in Gerontology would be welcome
- Minimum of 8 - 10 years demonstrated related experience with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management position
- Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of the values related to the work of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada
- Advanced interpersonal and communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills to build effective collaborative relationships within the organization
- Possess an understanding of related legislation that guides the work and services performed in the Residence
- Experience with the development and maintenance of best environmental practices
- Has a technical proficiency with the MS Office Suite as well as Virtual Meeting Technology
- A demonstrated team player; must be people oriented
