The **IT Project Manager** will manage a diverse range of company-wide IT initiatives for Greenworks Tools Canada, coordinating and providing strategic support to the IT department. The IT Project Manager will lead, develop, and execute projects to enhance the company's IT infrastructure and software solutions. They will manage professional staff to deliver IT projects supporting Greenworks Tools Canada's operational goals and strategic objectives.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develops and implements project plans, strategies, and policies to align IT projects with company goals.
- Assesses and improves IT practices in collaboration with departments, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Leads project teams, manages risks, resolves conflicts, and negotiates solutions to IT challenges.
- Creates project documentation (charters, schedules, budgets, resource plans) for successful delivery.
- Supervises and supports IT staff, ensuring teamwork, high standards, and performance.
- Manages project scope, timelines, and budgets, taking corrective action when needed.
- Recommends and plans IT project resources, including materials, personnel, and costs.
- Identifies the impact of new IT initiatives and submits them for annual budgeting.
- Anticipates emerging IT issues, coordinating solutions and resolving complex problems.
- Engages cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Advocates for improved IT processes and tracks progress of IT programs.
- Resolves project-related issues, ensuring quality and timely IT service delivery.
- Supports senior management through briefings, reports, and strategic decision-making materials.
- Establishes program goals, KPIs, and ensures compliance with company policies and standards.
- Provides emergency and operational support, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
**Key Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive experience in the delivery of a diverse range of complex IT projects from inception to implementation, including planning, design, and deployment.
- Extensive experience with stakeholder engagement and working with internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
- Considerable experience leading project teams and supervising teams, including mentoring and coaching professional staff.
- Ability to analyze and negotiate client and end-user requirements to define objectives for IT project delivery.
- Ability to prepare RFPs, tenders, reports, and other procurement documents, and work with consultants and contractors.
- Ability to oversee a complex work program requiring ongoing prioritization to meet often conflicting deadlines.
- Ability to control expenditures and administer an IT budget.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of Microsoft Office Suite products and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or similar).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, SSGI- Certified Agile Professional (SSGI-CAP) or equivalent is an asset.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as required.
