**OVERVIEW**
Reporting to the Director of Redevelopment, the Project Manager’s primary accountabilities will be related to the planning, management, and implementation of major Redevelopment Projects and other Capital Projects, which vary in scale and complexity. The role will require a skill set which is rooted in project management fundamentals.
The first and second phases of the current major Redevelopment Project is completed, which
included a new 8 story Patient Care Centre. The third and fourth phases are underway and include renovation within existing buildings on campus along with demolition of old buildings. All stages are being delivered under Infrastructure Ontario’s Design-Build-Finance procurement model.
Responsibilities of the Project Manager will include project initiation, planning, design, construction, commissioning, FFE procurement & delivery, and close-out using appropriate policies, procedures and practices.
To be successful in this role, the Project Manager will be required to work in collaboration with Clinical Stakeholders, Engineering and Bio-Med, Infection Prevention and Control, IMT, Security, Parking and several other hospital departments. To successfully implement tasks, the Project Manager will be working on site tosuit the needs of the projects.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Management of construction activities as assigned for both redevelopment and other Hospital infrastructure projects.
- Preparation of project status reports, presentations, other reports and briefing notes as required;
- Research, evaluate and provide recommendations re: building materials, systems and assemblies as required;
- Manage User Group sessions to develop scope in concert with Clinical Planners;
- Manage required Shutdowns in concert with Facilities Planning and Communications;
- Manage small construction projects ($1M to $15M) from inception to completion including initial project assessment, developing scope and project budgets, organizing user engagement,
consultant retention, and tendering and contract administration under a traditional CCDC contract.
- Follow hospital procurement processes, evaluations, negotiations, recommendations, selection and contract discussions in compliance with established standards, regulations, policies,
guidelines and procedures.
- Assist with preparation of MOHLTC and IO submissions as required;
- Facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and conflicts or make recommendations for approvals, provide information or solicit input.
- Ensure scope and budget control processes and procedures are employed
- Ensure seamless handover of completed projects to the hospital and end-users including
appropriate training of Facilities Department staff and delivery of all operations and maintenance
**EDUCATION**
- University or College Degree, preferably in Architecture, Building Sciences or Engineering;
- PMP designation or demonstrated understanding of project controls implementation is an asset;
- Experience with AutoCAD is an asset.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Five years of related experience in project management at a major hospital or a healthcare related project.
- Prior Experience in the following areas would be an asset:
- Infrastructure Ontario projects
- Understanding of clinical operations and healthcare building systems;
- Hospital mechanical and electrical Infrastructure and building systems, and their importance and impact on associated clinical operations;
- Legislation, codes and policies regarding infection; prevention and controls regarding healthcare construction and renovations;
- Proficiency in project management software (Microsoft Project, Excel),
- Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Proactive, self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
