The Procurement & Logistics Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing procurement processes for our Arena Operations team. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services essential for the smooth operation of the arena, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. Additionally, this role will be actively involved in coordinating shipping and deliveries to and from the arena, ensuring deliveries are synchronized with the Rogers Arena schedule.

This role will focus on:

- Identifying and engaging with potential vendors to secure competitive bids; establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and agreements
- Conducting regular vendor assessments to ensure compliance with quality, pricing, and delivery standards
- Working with our Legal department to review contracts to safeguard our business interests
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies to meet the arena’s operational needs
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements and provide effective solutions
- Working closely with Finance team to establish and monitor budgets
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements without compromising quality
- Executing the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget
- Overseeing and coordinating the shipping and delivery of goods to and from the arena; ensuring that deliveries align seamlessly with the building schedule to avoid disruptions
- Collaborating with logistics partners to optimize delivery routes and minimize transportation costs
- Managing the organization and logistics of the arena’s loading bays; coordinating the efficient flow of goods in and out of the loading bay, optimizing space and minimizing congestion
- Implementing protocols to enhance safety and security within the loading bay areas

**YOU HAVE**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain management or a related field
- 2 years of related logistics experience
- Proven experience in procurement, preferably in sports or entertainment
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in procurement
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, guests, clients, and customers, as well as to resolve conflict effectively and diplomatically
- Creative thinking skills with the ability to visualize ways to improve processes and procedures
- Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office
- Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis
- WHIMIS certification - Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Onsite role at our office in downtown Vancouver
