**Scope of the Position**

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team at Nch’ḵaỷ. As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our organization's procurement activities. Your primary responsibility will be to efficiently source and acquire goods and services while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Your ability to negotiate favorable terms, maintain vendor relationships, and implement cost-effective procurement strategies will be essential in contributing to our company's overall success.

**A.** **Duties, Responsibilities, Authority and Accountabilities**

**i. Procurement Planning**
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and develop comprehensive procurement plans aligned with business objectives.

**ii.** **Sourcing and Supplier Management**
- Identify potential suppliers, conduct market research, and evaluate vendor capabilities and values, to ensure the selection of reliable and cost-effective suppliers.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and negotiate contracts to achieve favorable terms and conditions.

**iii. Purchase Order Processing**
- Efficiently process purchase orders and monitor their execution to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Address any issues or delays with suppliers to minimize disruptions in the supply chain.

**iv.** **Cost Optimization**
- Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising on quality or service levels.
- Analyze pricing trends, conduct supplier performance evaluations, and initiate vendor performance improvement initiatives.

**v.Contract Management**
- Oversee the development and administration of supplier contracts, including terms and conditions, service level agreements, and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

**vi.** **Vendor Evaluation and Selection**
- Conduct thorough vendor assessments, including due diligence, financial stability, and sustainability practices, to ensure the organization partners with reputable and responsible suppliers.
- Provide support to various departments when Nch’ḵay̓ is engaged in competitive purchasing.

**B.** **Other**
- Perform other duties as required,

**C.** **Reporting Responsibilities and Authorities from Supervisor**
- Reports to Finance Director.

**D.** **Knowledge, Skills, and Experience**

**a.** **Knowledge**
- Bachelor's degree and further advanced certifications in procurement and supply chain management are advantageous,
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and vendor evaluation techniques,

**b.** **Skills**
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders,
- Familiarity with procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems,
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines within a rapidly growing organization,
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
