**Job Summary**

La Favorita Preston is seeking an experienced and talented Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and elevate our dining experience to new heights. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating innovative menus, overseeing kitchen operations, managing the culinary team, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Your passion for culinary excellence, leadership skills, and creativity will be key to our success.

**Responsibilities for Executive Chef**
- Lead and oversee the culinary operations of the restaurant within the establishment, ensuring exceptional food quality, taste, and presentation across the outlet
- Collaborate with clients to plan and execute menus for weddings, banquets, and special functions, creating memorable dining experiences
- Develop innovative and seasonally inspired menus that align with the culinary vision and meet quality standards
- Estimate food requirements, analyze food and labour costs, and implement cost-effective strategies to maximize profitability
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining inventory levels and ensuring the availability of necessary ingredients
- Prepare and cook complete meals or specialty foods, showcasing culinary expertise and creativity
- Instruct and mentor cooks in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, garnishing, and food presentation
- Continuously create and innovate recipes, staying updated on industry trends and incorporating new flavours and techniques into menu development
- Supervise and oversee the work of other chefs, and cooks, providing guidance, training, and fostering a cohesive and high-performing culinary team
- Manage equipment purchases, repairs, and maintenance to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Recruit, hire, and train talented kitchen staff, fostering their professional growth and maintaining a skilled team
- Plan menus for various occasions, considering client preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal ingredients
- Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless coordination and exceptional dining experiences
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements, implementing new cooking techniques and equipment to enhance culinary offerings
- Create and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality ingredients and ensure timely deliveries.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role within a high-volume restaurant
- Extensive culinary knowledge and expertise, with a demonstrated ability to create innovative and memorable dishes
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent understanding of food costs, inventory management, and menu engineering
- Creativity and a passion for exploring new flavours, ingredients, and culinary techniques
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen setting
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, suppliers, and customers.

**Education and Certification**
- Culinary degree or equivalent qualification is preferred
- Relevant certifications are a plus

**Salary**: $27.50 per hour
