Purpose
- With a clear focus on customer relationships and mutual brand growth, this person will grow the assigned On-Premise Strategic Accounts across Diageo total beverage alcohol portfolio; Lead accounts/partners and Improve Diageo Canada performance in assigned accounts in line with 5 year strategic pillars._
- Reports into the National On-Premise Director
- Independent, strategic individual responsible for numerous National Account businesses that require key strategic decisions for their accounts
- This role requires providing significant input (strategy, insights and business acumen) that drives growth and business opportunities for the National Accounts department and Diageo Canada.
- A diversified set of decision making is required, from running National Account data, anticipating industry trends, and making these relevant to specific customer requirements
- Resolve which data is relevant to build useful and measurable insights that can enable fact-based selling
- Responsible for handling current accounts base and recruiting new National Accounts within the defined territory
- Monthly tracking and reconciliation meetings with the National On-Premise Director & National Accounts team to ensure accurate spend accountability
- Provide monthly updates provided to OP Director regarding the status of the budget, remaining spends, and any risks highlighted
- Assists National On-Premise Team, Finance and regional sales teams nationally and have the ability to work with Retail Key Account Managers (KAM’s) within the various regions of Diageo and with Breakthru Beverage Company, the national sales broker
- Responsible for reporting analysis of sales information for the region while contributing to the strategic decision-making process that supports overall profitability
- Work across all Beverage Alcohol categories, Spirit (including Non-Alc), Beer & RTD brands sold by Diageo Canada
- Lead and forecast complex regional budgets and trackers, with the end goal to ensure efficient A&P spend to drive the business agenda.
- An expert on each National Account, their business, competition, and key drivers related to our portfolio going above and beyond to understand the needs of our customers
- Drive and support our compliance agenda Key Outputs
- Responsible for a multitude of Sales activities, including but not limited to the following: Lead Diageo selling efforts at National Accounts Corporate Headquarters that delivers annual NSV (Net Sales Value) and profit targets, share goals and tactical priorities such as brand programming
- Drive and sustain executional excellence: Crafting great consumer and customer experiences
- Grow volume, NSV, market share and deliver the annual operating plan
- Team/Relationship building and people development: Responsible for ensuring optimum performance effectiveness from strategic accounts and internal partners
- Submit required reports promptly and accurately as directed by Director OP
- Analyze sales and performance, evaluating current sales goals and trends, and providing the National Accounts team with competitive analysis via standardized reporting for all Sales Directors

Qualifications and Experience Required: Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Commerce/Business
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in Sales (within the consumer product industry) with a record of achievement of volume and net profit targets
- Experience in leading and growing multi-channel business activities
- Shown success in growing and maintaining strong professional partnerships and relationships
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, process management skills and negotiation skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, internally and externally
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel capabilities essential
