The primary role of the Assistant Manager - Housekeeping, is to inspire and engage employees to deliver Great Experiences for guests, owners and employees through established standards, policies, procedures, training and on-boarding. Using motivational leadership and open communication skills, the Assistant Manager will lead and motivate staff to meet and exceed service standards, and will promote a seamless, hassle-free guest experience, taking ownership of both the guest and employee experience. They will provide leadership, guidance and support to the staff of the Housekeeping Department as they oversee the daily execution of resort cleanliness.

**WHAT WILL I BE DOING?**
- Motivating, coaching, & recognizing great performance; Implementing new policies and procedures and ensuring compliance; Set clear expectations for staff
- Assisting the Housekeeping Manager with: mentoring, coaching and developing Supervisory team; providing inspiration for leadership and succession planning.
- Leading the training team to manage training material and facilitate refresher courses; ensuring quality standards are met through quality audits and inspections.
- Developing and maintaining strong positive working relationships with all Blue Mountain departments and key stakeholders.
- Assisting with communication of expectations to employees through daily briefings, monthly departmental meetings, performance reviews, ongoing training & development, and scheduling.
- Coordinating "special projects": i.e., staff events, building refurbishments, recognition program.
- Managing daily operation of room cleanliness, arrivals, services and ensure daily tasks are complete;
- Taking the lead on organizing staff events and activities that will increase engagement and participation, and build stronger relationships with other departments.
- Assisting HR with recruiting, selection, and onboarding initiatives, including attending job fairs, trade shows, and other recruitment initiatives

**WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?**
- Proven ability to coach, develop, mentor and recognize supervisors and staff.
- Passionate, energetic and creative approach to leadership.
- Confidence in decision making and communication.
- Minimum of 3 years previous leadership experience
- Intermediate computer knowledge, MS Office required; knowledge of Property Management software an asset.
- Experience developing training programs, policies and procedures an asset
- One to two years previous hotel experience and/or knowledge of housekeeping operations an asset.
