**Description**

This position reports to the Lab Manager.

The Research Coordinator will be the main point of contact for Calgary participants at the Calgary site, dealing with recruitment, data entry, and participant retention. The Research Coordinator will also interact and liaise with the Clinical Stroke Research team as some projects will cross over with their team. The CAMAROS study is examining the impact and rehabilitation of individuals with recovering from stroke looking at the effectiveness of a drug treatment, combined with intensive therapy. Work is routinely reviewed by the study team, supervisor and/or principal Investigator.

Work will require some travel between lab sites within the city of Calgary.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Collect, consolidate, cross-tabulate and format data from various sources to prepare data summary of participants recruited and retention for different projects
- Provide support in the laboratory
- Provide support for clinical assessments, administering motor learning assessments, qualitative interviews, cognitive assessments, and phone interviews
- Transporting patients between different lab locations
- Ensure that the data is handled carefully at all times, ensures regular work attendance
- Attendance at weekly lab meetings
- Perform a telephone screening assessment of potential participants Scheduling participants, assessments and follow-up appointments
- Data backup and transport to the data analysis laboratory performed daily
- Inputting data to the database
- Digitizing and filing charts
- Thorough knowledge of different study protocols and procedures
- Preparation of research data for presentations, preparation of lab related documents
- Establishes and maintains effective, productive relationships with staff, peers, immediate supervisor and senior management and with the campus community
- Manages own time effectively and ensures immediate reports to manager is kept informed of activities, and progress of work

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Bachelor Degree in Science or related training 1-2 years of work experience Preferred
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent Attention to Detail
- Demonstrated ability for professional report writing
- Knowledge of research ethics
- Ability to problem solve in complex situations
- Demonstrated strong communication, team and customer service skills, and an ability to exercise judgment within established guidelines
- Must be open to learning and development, and be willing to accept new challenges and assignments
- A positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are critical to success
- GCP and TCPS2 certification desirable
- Knowledge of the University of Calgary processes and procedures is desirable
