Your role at Clorox:
This position is responsible for the development of all category management and space management with the customer to deliver against the strategic objectives and execution of Category Plans and Customer Strategies. The person hired into the role will proactively implement consumer and category insights and strategy with respective actions in assortment, promotion, shelf optimization to win with the shopper, grow the category for the customer and Clorox.

As a Category Advisor, the individual will participate and focus on specific projects (Line Reviews, Plan-o-grams, Category Captaincy) with the intent of growing Top Line Sales for both the customer and Clorox. The individual will be required to leverage Retailer’s POS Data, ACNielsen, Loyalty Data, and Consumer Insights to identify risks/opportunities and share the findings, where appropriate, with the customer.

This position is also responsible for leading and owning the development of the category playbook, servicing the sales organization and supporting the sales organization on strategic initiatives.

In this role, you will:
Category Advisory, Category Leadership & Customer Business Planning
- Provide Category Captaincy and leadership support to customers on assigned categories
- Act as a category expert for Walmart, deliver category best practices that highlight category opportunities and areas of risk or challenges
- Creates a category vision at the customer by leveraging category, shopper, and consumer insights that highlight impactful customer opportunities AND yield growth for the category
- Demonstrate expertise in category management and efficient assortment decisions while influencing to help drive category growth
- Using space management software to develop planograms that would be shopper centric, drives optimal layouts and maximize sales for the category
- Be proficient in interpreting shopper and consumer research to drive category solutions development with customers
- Positively influences customer decision-making towards rational, fact-based category decisions
- Consistently expands influence and trust with customers

Special Projects
- Responsible for the strategic planning, building, and directing the development of the category playbook and other internal sales projects
- Support internally at Clorox on adhoc analysis, reporting and identify business issues/opportunities and provide recommendations.
- Actively participate in team building and best practice sharing to increase team effectiveness
- Be the lead agent in supporting the sales organization on strategic initiatives

What we look for:
Years and Type of Experience:

- 5+ years of related experience
- 3 + Years Category Management experience with large retailer
- 2 + Years Key Account Management in CPG organization, or
- ACNielsen background
- Category Analyst experience within Tier 1 CPG organizations
- Energetic self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit
- Vendor Advisor and JDA is required
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Strong knowledge of Loyalty and Syndicated information
- Possess strong financial acumen (understanding of P&L drivers) Demonstrated ability to solution-oriented management.
- Proven ability to work well with customers (internally & externally)
- Strong technical aptitude in terms of analytical ability, system capabilities relative to customer’s POS systems.
