**Compensation**: $48,000 - 52,000 annualized

Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) is a community-based, non-profit organization serving immigrant and refugee women and their young children since 1975. PIRS delivers accessible, inclusive, low-barrier programs for immigrant and refugee women and their children that create a sense of belonging, meaningful participation and leadership.

The Project Coordinator will support the implementation of advocacy and outreach programs to advance women’s rights and gender equality in Canada, leading the coordination of day to day activities of this systemic change project focused on childcare.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the coordination of day-to-day activities for the project ensuring alignment with the project workplan and strategic objectives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of project stakeholders at the national and organizational level, including project partners, and childcare sector actors
- Develop and deliver knowledge transfer workshops to representatives of organizations from across Canada
- Provide regular group and one-on-one support, empowering organizational and project partners to take active roles in advocacy and decision making processes
- Establish a community of practice and facilitate monthly virtual meetings
- Plan, organize and facilitate capacity building sessions for underrepresented women
- Lead the organization of events, meetings and trips that support project objectives, including planning logistics, coordinating with partners, and evaluating impact and contribution
- Assist with monitoring the delivery of the project ensuring that PIRS is meeting its funded target deliverables within budget and according to the work plan
- Produce reports and communication materials that highlight the work and impact of the project
- Provide support to project team members liaising and coordinating with other team members across PIRS as needed

**Job Specific Qualifications**
- Knowledge of childcare sector and issues affecting immigrant and refugee women within it as both the users and the workers (lived experience of interacting with the system in those capacities preferred)
- 5+ years’ experience in a non-profit sector and advocacy work involving marginalized populations
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of experience and education. Education, Social Work, Human & Social Development, or the Social Sciences preferred.
- Working knowledge of system change and social innovation principles, methods and tools
- Bilingual, being BBB level in both English and French
- Experience organizing events and convening stakeholders
- Excellent organizational, project management, financial and reporting skills

- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Proficient in using various software and digital tools
- Understanding of the intersecting barriers and unique needs of immigrant and refugee women
- Possession of non-judgmental and genuinely positive attitudes (culture, religion, race, gender, sexuality, special needs, etc.) and freedom from stereotypes
- Passion for inclusivity and diversity, and interest in being part of a multicultural team is an asset
- Attitudes and values aligned with the goals and philosophy of PIRS

**Working Conditions**
- This is a temporary fixed-term full-time position based on project funding
- Occasional weekend and evening work may be required
- Ability to travel between programs across Vancouver and other Lower Mainland communities; ability to travel within the province and nationally as required
- Ability to work both virtually and in person required
- Project delivery activities may require a moderate level of physical fitness to carry out duties
- Clean criminal record check required
- Proof of full vaccination required
