**THE OPPORTUNITY: SHAREHOLDER ADVOCACY OFFICER**

Reporting to the Associate Director, Shareholder Advocacy (Decent Work & Human Rights) and working collaboratively across programs, the Shareholder Advocacy Officer plays a key role in SHARE’s shareholder engagement program. They develop and execute corporate engagement strategies, negotiate with companies, and lead collaborative engagement across a range of program areas.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
You will be a pivotal contributor to SHARE’s industry-leading corporate engagement program. Some of your primary responsibilities will include:

- Preparing decision-useful briefs to assist in preparation and execution of engagement with companies and investment managers to change policies and practices
- Coordinating and supporting engagements with companies and investment managers on social and governance issues, including the filing of shareholder proposals, advocacy and discussions with companies and investor representatives
- Supporting negotiation of formal and informal agreements with target companies;
- Supporting collaborative work with allied investors, including developing common agendas and shared priorities;
- Contributing to developing strategy and identifying targets, outcomes, timing, focus and activities for each sector and company based on thematic priorities;
- Supporting maintenance of ongoing, constructive engagement relationships with company personnel, government and regulatory officials;
- Maintaining relationships with and monitor developments from engagement partners, allied investors, relevant stakeholder groups, and experts in relevant fields;
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of emerging issues and trends in SHARE’s thematic areas;
- Contributing to drafting and review of communications about engagement themes and companies, including policy briefs, blog posts, research reports, and program reports;
- Contributing to the development of team learning, systems and culture to support a dynamic and growing program
- Working collaboratively with the research team to shape research program to support new and emerging engagement objectives.
