Sales Manager

Summary
Our hotels bring people together. We are searching for a Sales Manager capable for securing the new business and existing clients, building strong client relationships and pulling together truly unforgettable events, meetings and conferences.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for generating business from assigned markets through the development of strong business relationships with existing and new clients. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals (Segment: SMERF, Government and First Nation).
- Drive sales initiatives to increase room bookings, meeting/event space rentals, and other hotel services.
- Research the market in order to identify potential sources of business within the market segment(s) assigned
- Actively solicit business through pre-planned personal sales calls, mailers, marketplaces, attendance at receptions, promotions, telephone calls, etc.
- Foster and support existing accounts via sales calls, entertainment, etc.
- Follow up on all sales activities
- Accurately confirms all bookings, quotes and negotiates rates while adhering to hotel rate structure, credit policies and general hotel and corporate policies and procedures
- Recommend ways and means of maximization of hotel revenue through sales strategies
- Responsible for full market knowledge as it relates to competitors, with respect to product, rate, positioning and policies
- Attend trade shows/marketplaces as per the Marketing plan or as the need arises
- Submit sales reports to Director of Sales and Marketing, accurately outlining all sales activities
- Actively participates in weekly sales team meetings and strategy sessions
- Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Previous groups, meeting and events experience in a hotel or sales role (Min 2 years preferred)
- Passion for providing excellent client experiences and client engagement
- Confidence in proactively preventing problems and ability to handle service recovery following any complaints.
- Love of working in a fast-paced and motivated team with a desire to take the next step in your career
- Excellent attention to detail
- Exceptional administrative and time-management skills
- Willingness to work as part of a team and learn new things.
- Great Interpersonal skills
- SALES FORCE and IHG Platform Experience preferred
- Sales / negotiating abilities, Attention to detail
- Planning and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication skills - written and spoken
- Positive, can-do team player attitude
- Positive image in manners and words
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Desktop Publishing
- Marketing or Social Media experience is an asset
