The Westen Milk Pool is a partnership between BC Milk, BC Dairy, Alberta Milk, SaskMilk, and Dairy Farmers of Manitoba.
**About You**

You bring a background in organizational and change management practices to help us build best practices within our organization. This position entails strategic and tactical functions - assessing the needs of the business and translating them into action that will help grow and develop our leaders and employees.
Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, you’ll be working with a group of talented leaders who genuinely care about the well-being of their teams and the dairy farmers we serve. You will be the first line of contact for all staff inquiries and be a champion for the culture and leadership principles.
**What you will do**
We are seeking a People & Culture Generalist to support teams across Western Canada. This position requires an HR professional with proven success working within a growing company. We are looking for someone passionate about creating meaningful connections and amazing experiences throughout a full employee life cycle. With a hands-on approach, the successful incumbent will support day-to-day human resource operations for each of the five Western Milk Pool partners.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects with the wider People & Culture team that affect everyone in the organization to transform and deliver best in class people programs that are flexible as we evolve.
- Act as a collaborative and consultative partner to business leaders across the organizations and the People & Culture team, in developing solutions to operational employee-related issues that affect business results.
- Navigate and work seamlessly between provincial legislation and the differing policies across the five organizations.
- Provide thought leadership and execution of people programs and initiatives while partnering with the People & Culture team to deliver exceptional HR services that help drive and support our staff
- Lead a staff Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee on researching, developing, and implementing various programs focused on improving the organization’s shared initiative
- Provide consultation and advice, including policy interpretation, assessing risk to the organization, conducting investigations, and managing people and culture initiatives to support our core values, and company goals and to ensure we deliver on service excellence.
- Deliver performance management coaching to leaders and guide employees on effective communication and expectation setting in support of continuous feedback.
- Assist leaders in managing employee issues and provide guidance for resolution.
- Strive for operational excellence in all HR activities with an ownership mindset while identifying efficiency opportunities to scale our programs.
- Implement and document HR procedures, make continuous improvements to our processes, and elevate a sense of high reliability and trust with our internal customers.
- Organize and attend employee events (social, wellness, and other initiatives) that help create a remarkable employee experience remotely and in person.
**What you have**
- University Degree or completion of a College Diploma Program in Human Resources. CHRP designation an asset.
- 8+ years of relevant HR work experience within a Human Resources department with at least 5 years as an HR generalist/Business Partner/Manager.
- Experience in unionized environment considered an asset.
- Experience in organizational change preferred.
- Proven experience in coaching, developing, and influencing managers and leaders with a strong balance of EQ and business acumen.
- Demonstrated track record in a changing environment.
- Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel as necessary.
- Ability to travel which could include overnight travel based on need.
