We are looking for a progressive people-oriented Human Resources Professional to join our team. The HR Generalist delivers a wide range of HR services to the employees and management team. This includes employee relations, workplace investigations, training and development, strategic skills planning, employee return to work, labour relations, performance management, and HR training. This position requires well-rounded knowledge as an HR generalist, familiar with every discipline within HR to formulate workforce strategies that meet organizational goals and develop solutions on employment-related issues. The HR Generalist also provides day-to-day employee assistance with HR-related matters.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist managers and employees in the interpretation and administration of company policies, compensation, benefit programs and personnel policies and programs
- Assist with all internal and external HR-related matters
- Update current job descriptions, policy manuals and other related HR documentation
- Identify training needs for the organization and assist in the development of training programs
- Participate in developing organizational guidelines and procedures and workplace programs/initiatives
- Recommend strategies to motivate employees
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies
- Promote a safe and respectful workplace
- Investigate concerns/complaints brought forward by employees
- Monitor employee morale and company culture
- Strategize and find solutions with Managers on Performance and/or Disciplinary issues
- Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation, and process all new hire information
- Administer employee leaving offboarding and conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary
- Coordinate employee development plans and performance management Maintain employee personnel records
- Manage the organization’s employee database and prepare reports on general HR activity
- Assist with payroll processing
- Oversee the administration of Group Benefits including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Administer reporting requirements for WCB, Service Canada, etc.
- Research best practices and ensure current HR policies are up-to-date and compliant

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as an HR Coordinator
- A CPHR designation is considered an asset
- Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices
- Deep understanding of Manitoba Labor Law and employment equity regulations
- Efficient HR administration and people management skills
- Excellent record-keeping skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Experience in a Sales/Service environment preferred
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
