The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Maintenance General Foreman to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, the Mine Maintenance General Foreman is responsible for directing repairs, overhauls and new builds to mining related equipment. This position will employ reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting functions, planning and execution of maintenance functions.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**:
Ensure all crews are completing their work in compliance with Company Safety Policies and OH&S Legislation
Participate in daily/weekly safety meetings
Work with the superintendent to meet schedules and project specifications
Plan, set priorities, and organized the work for the foreman/crews/sub-contractors
Ensure site documentation/data is completed and submitted on time (progress reports, timesheets, coding, work logs, etc.)
Complete daily planning with materials and warehouse staff
Ensure work is completed according to drawings and specifications
Act as a liaison between site crews and administration/management
Job tasks may be physically demanding lifting to 50 lbs
Various other duties as requested by management
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Strong commitment to safety
Experience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipment
Strong written and verbal communication
Experience with Komatsu, CAT, Epiroc equipment is considered an asset
Willing to adapt and work in an inclusive work environment
Willing to perform repetitive tasks
Comfortable working at heights
Proficient utilizing MS Office programs
Knowledge of quality fundamentals
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong leadership attributes
Ontario Common Core an asset
SAP experience an asset
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Red Seal Journeyperson certification
Remote location working environment
Prior experience in an industrial setting - mine site experience is an asset
Komatsu, CAT, Epiroc equipment OEM standards maintained
Valid driver’s license
LOCATION
This position will be based in Geraldton, ON on a rotational basis.
Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up points.
