Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Maintenance Trainer to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance General Foreman the Mine Maintenance Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining training materials for the Mine Maintenance Department.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**: Design and develop training programs in area of expertise that comply with national and provincial regulations Prepare teaching materials and job aids, and deliver training on mobile maintenance equipment services and repairs, including but not limited to sit down counterbalance forklifts, rough terrain telescopic forklifts, working at height, all types of ariel work platforms, fall arrest and travel restraints and overhead crane Help colleagues perform their jobs safely and effectively by sharing information, skills and knowledge Evaluate training materials after delivery and revise or update materials as required Collaborate with team leaders, superintendents and mine managers to identify and prioritize training needs Collaborate with technical personnel to observe and analyze jobs, and validate operating procedures and processes to be used for training Deliver training to individuals and group on work sites, in equipment cabs, using simulators, or in a classroom May develop and deliver computer-based training Plan and optimize training schedules within operational deadlines and track and document employee progress Support strategic planning, budgeting and scheduling Support operational goals by modeling corporate values and best practices to colleagues
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Exceptional organizational skills and ability to respond to multiple and often competing priorities Strong initiative and willingness to learn Proficient in various MS Office Applications Ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION Post-secondary training certificate or diploma in Adult Education, Vocational Education or Instructional Design Training and/or certification in WHMIS, Health and Safety, Equipment Operation and ‘Train the Trainer’ 5+ years of relevant experience in a mining maintenance environment Training or experience in one or more fields or processes related to mining
LOCATION
This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario on a rotational basis.
Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
