Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Maintenance Superintendent to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Manager or designate, the Mine Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for the mobile equipment maintenance for the new start-up mine, which will ramp-up to a 200,000 tonnes per day open pit operation. Accountable for meeting expected equipment performance and mechanical equipment availability targets.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**:
Responsible for the site-wide mobile maintenance activities to ramp-up a new open pit mine to 200,000 ex-pit tonnes per day.
Develop and communicate long-term maintenance objectives.
Establish metrics to track and manage performance.
Develop and execute an effective asset management plan through the extensive use of data analytics / machine health coupled with technical expertise.
Establish an effective plan to ensure personnel requirements are sourced successfully in a timely manner with appropriate onboarding and training.
Promote and maintain a safe workplace targeting zero harm. Ensure the safety of employees, contractors and equipment.
Be a leader in promoting Greenstone Mine values.
Work closely with mine operations and engineering personnel to oversee site mobile maintenance needs as required.
Develop and execute business plans and budgets.
SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES
Strong understanding of asset management with a focus on planning, scheduling and continuous improvement.
Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning and SAP maintenance modules.
Advanced knowledge of/expertise in open-pit mining maintenance practices and repair.
Advanced knowledge of haul trucks and hydraulic shovels in an open pit environment.
Strong maintenance problem solving skills and analytical skills.
Demonstratable project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Strong leadership skills and ability to create a positive work environment.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology.
A minimum of 10 years’ work experience with a minimum of 3 years of management experience in a similar role preferably in an open pit setting.
Strong competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
LOCATION
This position will be based at the mine site in Geraldton, Ontario.
Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
