**Description**:
The position is involved in assurance and compliance audits, investigations, and advisory projects within the Internal Audit Services department in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. Working under the direction of the Director, Compliance and Manager, Compliance, the position is responsible for: Assessing risk at business unit and project specific levels as an input to develop the compliance testing program. Planning and conducting compliance audits which comply with professional auditing standards. Assisting with drafting compliance reports for Senior Management that identify control weaknesses and offer recommendations to mitigate risks. Conducting follow-up reviews of management action items to mitigate risk and control exposures. Participating in special investigations and providing management advice and assistance regarding risk mitigation, internal control practices and effectiveness and efficiency of business processes. Consulting with other professionals within Alberta Health Services as required, this position interprets client needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions. Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities: 70% Conduct Compliance Audits: As a member of the Compliance Team, executes assigned audit procedures and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. 15% Report Writing: Prepares conclusions, documents compliance findings, assists in compliance report preparation and presentation to stakeholders. 15% Risk and Internal Control Identification: Evaluates the implications of key risks, identifies internal controls and provides input into the design and execution of the compliance plan and procedures.

**Required Qualifications**:
Working towards completion of a post-secondary business degree with a major in accounting.

Ability to function within a collaborative team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
