The Court of King’s Bench is the Superior Trial Court for the Province, hearing trials in civil and criminal matters and appeals from decisions of the Provincial Court.

The Court and Justice Services Branch provides a wide range of resolution and court services for people involved in legal disputes. In collaboration with the courts of Alberta, Court and Justice Services provides various programs and services including educating and helping Albertans finding solutions for legal issues and navigating the court system, offering programs at no cost or a nominal charge, and administrative support to all courts in Alberta.

**Role Responsibilities**:
Court of King’s Bench Judicial is looking for an independent and enthusiastic Court Coordinator with strong communication and problem-solving skills to join their team.

You will be administratively responsible to the Manager, Court Coordination, but functionally responsible to the Judiciary. You will be responsible for the efficient scheduling of civil, family and criminal court cases in accordance with various legislation, policies, procedures and directions of the Court.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Ensuring compliance with various legislation, policies, procedures and directions of the court.
- Striving for a well-balanced workload for the assigned judiciary.
- Providing assistance to the public and legal community by interpreting and answering procedural questions in relation to relevant legislation, policies and procedures and directions of the court.
- Responsible for effective management of the interdependencies between the Judiciary, Court Administration, Crown Counsel, members of the Bar, self-represented litigants, as well as other government agencies and members of the public through the exercise of tact and diplomacy as necessary to accomplish the objective.
- Effective communication between various internal and external stakeholders including the Judiciary, Court Administration, Counsel and Self-Represented Litigants.

- Have the ability to act independently, decisively and tactfully.

**Qualifications**:
Two-year diploma in a related field plus a minimum of five years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described

Equivalency: One year of experience for one year of education; one year of education for one year of experience
- Experience using these government programs: KBSS, JOIN, and CASES
- Experience in an administrative role working in a Courthouse
- Experience working with 1GX
- Experience working with the Document Hub (aka SharePoint)

**Notes**:
The Court Coordinator works 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
