**About Us**:
The Alberta Court of Justice will recognize the importance of working collaboratively with First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities, and have a working knowledge around the Truth and Reconciliation Commission calls to action. **Role**:
Reporting to Business and In Management and Technology Advisor for Alberta Court of Justice, Business Analysis is discipline and includes the framework improving the organization’s approach to providing programs and services. Business analysis is a practice area that provides key expertise, to any client within court, relating to the planning and execution of projects.

Expertise consists of training, guidance and mentoring, advise, assistance, methodologies, tools and templates, all of which are designed to improve the Ministry's capability and capacity to successfully complete projects.

As a member of the Business and Information Management team, reporting directly to the Business and Information Management Advisor, the Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for:

- Liaising with key stakeholders;
- Provide a range of business analysis services for internal and external stakeholders;
- Contributing to the Branch' s success.

This position will play a lead role in the evaluation of the Organization’s Current systems and processes. In addition, they will work with project teams and business units to analyze business needs, then recommend and develop and propose solutions to address their business challenges.

This position also has responsibility for the development and documenting of the Court's privacy and information security awareness training which must be provided to all users with access to court information.

The Business Analyst (BA) will work with the Senior Manager of Operations and Services and Case Management resources to select the appropriate business analysis approach for any Business Analysis project. The BA displays and maintains awareness to current industry and organizational trends, standards and disciplines being used to deliver new or enhanced business analysis approaches to solutions.

Working with a team of supportive and dedicated professionals, the incumbent will provide a diverse range of services that support business modelling which includes, risk management, business process improvement and training.

**Qualifications**:
University Degree or Diploma in Business Administration/Computer Science or in a related field, supplemented by a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible related experience in an IT-focused business analyst role is required. Related experience includes
- IT focused business analyst work experience
- Technical expertise business analysis methodologies
- Proficiency with MS Office

Preference will be given to individuals with:

- Work experience in a large or public organization
- Project management experience
- Experience in the legal profession

The following certifications are considered an asset:

- Business Analyst and/or Project Management Certification

Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency one-for-one for one basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

**Equivalencies are**:
Related two-year diploma and a minimum of six (6) years related experience; related one-year certificate and a minimum of seven (7) years related experience; a minimum of eight (8) years related experience.
