**Your opportunity**:
The Course Administrator and Student Project Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the office and the coordination of projects for the Engineering Strategies and Practice (ESP) program within the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering. The incumbent works under the general direction of the Course Coordinator and the Communication Coordinator, and reports to the Director, First Year Office.

Overall responsibilities include management and planning for the office and course of 1000 students and 70+ members of the teaching team, and the coordination and solicitation of 190+ projects per year. The Course Administrator and Student Project Coordinator will function as the point of contact for inquiries from clients, faculty, staff, alumni and the broader community. Other duties include:

- Collaborating in the development of course materials, procedures and schedules.
- Advising ESP students.
- Supervising the work of the Course and Educational Technology Assistant.
- Coordinating the hiring and training of Teaching Assistants.
- Overseeing the program’s communications, website and promotional materials development.
- Overseeing the maintenance of the student database and course portal.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Advising students on academic matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background
- Analyzing, making recommendations on award funding allocation and overseeing budget and expenses
- Providing detailed information on program and/or course eligibility requirements, procedures, policies and deadlines
- Ensuring that procedures and/or guidelines are followed
- Coordinating course schedules, activities, events and presentations
- Keeping well-informed on changes to policies, procedures, collective agreements, and applicable legislated requirements
- Handling sensitive and/or confidential information

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum four years of relevant experience providing project, administrative, and logístical support to educational programming
- Experience providing support to students, staff and faculty within a post-secondary environment
- Experience managing and prioritizing a complex schedule
- Administrative experience and familiarity with standard office procedures
- Experience fostering positive relationships with clients.
- Strong computer skills, including: MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Learning Management System (e.g. Quercus)
- Strong Quercus and Blackboard LMS software knowledge or similar platforms, including knowledge of common issues and how to be addressed
- Ability to relate to all levels of faculty, staff and students in a manner that facilitates cooperation
- Ability to organize complex tasks and complete projects to meet deadlines
