**Your opportunity**:
Established in 1859, the Department of Chemistry is one of the leading institutions of its kind in Canada - featuring teaching excellence, advanced research facilities and development of distinguished scientists in the past and for the future. Our department has a wide variety of services including chemical stores, NMR lab, X-ray analysis lab and a mass spectrometry lab. This position will report into the Associate Chair, Undergraduate Studies and the Chief Administrative Officer, Department of Chemistry.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Coordinating schedules with stakeholders, including staff, teaching assistants and faculty.
- Troubleshooting timetabling and/or room booking conflicts.
- Collecting and submitting final course grades.
- Coordinating the preparation and distribution of course material.
- Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate.
- Handling sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Updating and maintaining records; monitoring undergraduate tutorial and laboratory section enrolment.
- Preparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in Physical Sciences or Sciences, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years' recent and related experience with educational course coordination, including preparing course and program material, maintaining course/student information and organizing program logistics, preferably in an academic environment
- Experience providing detailed explanations regarding academic programs and course information to students
- Experience working with ROSI and Quercus or similar University Student Information System
- Experience working in a university or college setting
- Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated advanced skills with Quercus or similar system
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, multitasking and administrative skills
- Excellent team work skills

**Assets (Nonessential)**:

- Knowledge of chemistry would be an asset
