**Reports to**:Chair and Incoming Chair
**Hours of Work**:Full-time - 9am-5pm Monday - Friday with occasional evening/weekend support in lieu of weekdays off
**Salary**:$45,000 - $50,000

**Position Summary**
Halton Down Syndrome Association (HDSA) is a Charity working to empower individuals with Down syndrome to reach their full potential through all stages of life. HDSA is an active and vibrant leader in advocacy, awareness, education and support within the Halton community.

The Charity Administrator is a vital front-line member of this team, providing administrative, technical, and communications support to the organization and Board of Directors. The Charity Administrator is the first point of contact for the Association, serving as a resource for new parents, new members, donors, and community members, and helps organize, run and oversee all programs, events, and major fundraisers.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide administrative support to the Board of Directors, Peer Group Co-ordinators and Association Members
- Help plan, organize and oversee monthly events, workshops and programs, including HDSA’s major events (AGM, Holiday Party, World Down Syndrome Day Party) and annual awareness project (WDSD School Contest)
- Co-chair the Halton Walk for Down Syndrome event and help coordinate other major fundraising activities
- Create digital content and marketing materials
- Manage HDSA’s CRM system (memberships, donors, volunteers, etc.)
- Recruit, manage and retain internal and external volunteers
- Manage contract employees/students
- Support HDSA’s social media community
- Manage and oversee HDSA merchandise and sales
- Maintain financial records and support yearly Financial Audit
- Maintain office supplies, process mail/deliveries
- Handle logístical preparations for meetings, including recording of monthly meeting minutes and issuing of minutes (one evening per month)
- Prepare and mail thank you letters and cheques
- Run errands within the Halton Region
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Minimum Education**
- Post-secondary education

**Experience**
- Previous work/volunteer experience in administrative capacity is an asset
- Previous work/volunteer experience in not-for-profit/charity is an asset
- Previous work/volunteer experience with major P2P fundraisers is an asset

- Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with an ability to work with a Board of Directors, volunteers, community partners, and service providers in a collaborative team environment
- Solid work ethic and organizational skills, with attention to detail and demonstrated follow-through
- Ability to take direction well, receive and provide constructive feedback, and respond quickly and productively to changes in the environment, or priorities
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential information
- Aptitude to anticipate, understand and respond to the needs of members
- Strong computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Google G-Suite; DropBox
- Familiarity with digital design programs, such as: Adobe Acrobat Professional, Illustrator and Photoshop; Canva; and iMovie
- Fluency with social media and online community management
- Current Ontario Drivers’ License and access to a vehicle
- Vulnerable sector Police check will be required
- Knowledge of Down syndrome

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$5,000.00 per year
