**Position Type**: Full time contract position up to 35 hours/week. Applicant will be required to work the occasional evening/weekend to support fundraising events.

Location: Remote

**Note: The position is remote, but will require some on site support at fundraising events. For the day to day job, the applicant will be working from a home-based office and will be required to meet weekly with Variety Alberta leadership via Teams meeting with the occasional f-t-f meeting for reporting updates.**

**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the CEO and Director of Partnerships, the Fundraiser and Event Planning Support Administratorwill be responsible for helping to secure funding for the charity to support our programs and events held within Alberta.

**The role will involve conducting outreach to potential donors; securing silent auction items for our events; supporting with grant writing when needed and seeking funding support for our programs (with a significant focus on inclusive playground projects).**

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward relationships with individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations to support the programs we are running in our communities.
- Meets with new donor prospects for Variety Alberta on a regular basis.
- Develop donor funding proposals as required.
- Increase donor acquisition, retention, and amount of donor support Variety Alberta receives on an annual basis.
- Maintain a spreadsheet on contacts and donors and input into CRM donor database.
- Liaising and negotiating with vendors.
- Managing branding and communication or marketing materials for events.
- Developing event feedback surveys.
- Obtaining permits.
- Implementing a variety of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
- Participate and support Variety events such as Go Baby Go car give-aways, playground builds, and fundraising events
- Assist in the actual events on the event dates through direct work with the children and families.
- Under guidance of the Leadership assist in identifying, scheduling and coordinating event volunteers.
- Assist in arranging materials and supplies for events.
- Assist in completing post-event analysis and any follow-up activities

**The successful applicant will have the following qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent with a focus in fundraising, communications, marketing, or community outreach
- A minimum of two years of successful experience in fundraising, event planning or sales
- Exceptional oral and written skills
- Must be able to work independently
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and respond nimbly to deadlines
- Strong communication and marketing skills

- High degree of social intelligence and integrity
- High energy, outgoing, and a team player
- Results-oriented, dynamic and enthusiastic individual with demonstrated relationship building skills
