Government Communications and Public Engagement (GCPE) is a dynamic, progressive and innovative organization that supports external communication of government in its ongoing dialogue with British Columbians. GCPE leads and coordinates government communications through its three divisions: Strategic Communications, Communications Operations and Corporate Priorities.

The Manager, Community Engagement works to listen to, engage with, and manage the BC Government’s online community. The position manages the BC Government’s “digital footprint” across all social media channels, ensuring all comments on social media channels are moderated and questions are answered in a timely and accessible way. The Manager is responsible for the development of key messaging, strategic content, and a digital outreach strategy to support the strategic communications objectives of the Government of BC.

**Job Requirements**:

- **Post-secondary degree in a communication related field** (journalism, public relations, political science, writing, English, marketing etc.);
- **5 years or more** progressively responsible experience in communications/marketing positions; **OR**:

- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required experience includes:

- Experience in managing social media content, comment response, and analytics.
- Experience with social media outreach and strategic online engagement.
- Project management experience. Public relations, stakeholder or community management experience.Preference may be given to those with:

- Experience managing staff.
- Experience working with influencers.
- Experience with the implementation of best practice in social media, social media advertising and online advertising.
