Mercer Benefits team is seeking a **Billing Specialist** for our Montreal office

As Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for the invoicing and other financial duties for the Mercer Marsh Benefits team in Montreal/Quebec City and Ottawa.

This involves client project billing set up, running monthly reports and working with consultants to ensure accurate and timing invoicing each month.

**We will count on you to**:

- Generate reports and distribute to client teams for verification of hours and description of services and amounts to be invoiced
- Assist with set up codes and liaise with the system administrator
- Advise consultants of codes to use
- Serve as liaison to office Accounting/Unit Finance
- Maintain client billing spreadsheets as necessary
- Researching agreements in the internal system to include follow-up with consultants
- Create/renew/validate account/project codes in the system in a timely manner and collect necessary documentation from consultants
- Support the team by renewing policies in our accounting system for commission revenue
- Ensure policies and procedures are being followed per compliance

**What you need to have**:

- College degree in accounting or related discipline
- Ideally, 1+ years’ experience in a similar role at a professional services firm
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel, proficiency with accounting/billing systems and virtual tools (Zoom, Webcas, Teams)
- Self-Starter, with strong analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work with minimum supervision on multiple projects
- Proven ability to meet set deadlines
